Introduction
Abrasion resistant (AR) Steel Plate is a high-carbon alloy steel plate. This means that AR is harder due to the addition of carbon, and formable and weather resistant steel plate due to added alloys. Carbon added during the formation of the steel plate substantially increases toughness and hardness, but reduces strength.
Corrosion resistant alloys are metals engineered to resist degradation by oxidation or other chemical reactions. The most common cars used for mild to moderate corrosion resistance, are stainless steels.
Wear resistant steel plates are abrasion resistant plates or liners that are used to reduce wear and tear in surfaces that are exposed to intense rolling abrasion and impact. These plates are made fit-for-purpose for a number of machines and products across the earth moving, mining and other industrial industries.

AR400 Abrasion Resistant Plate
AR400 is specifically designed for abrasion and wear-resistant applications. AR400 has a typical hardness range of 360-444 BHN, which is slightly lower than AR450. As with other abrasion-resistant steels, it does not have defined chemistry, but rather, the grade is determined based on hardness.
